Started 'We were soldiers once...and young' last night. the only things i have ever read more depressing is "The Gulag Archipelego" and anything by Emile Zola. Then again I have read the gulag many times. it's not a children's story by any means, but if I ever feel bad, i can pick one of the books up, read a bit and then realize that my problem is nothing compared to these souls.
